New staff helping build on Cànan’s success

Cànan, the Isle of Skye-based communications company, is delighted to announce the appointment of new staff to the key positions of Marketing Manager and Office Manager.

Rachel Alcorn, a recent graduate of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig took up her post as Marketing Manager on 3rd July. Rachel will have responsibility for driving forward the promotion and marketing of the ‘Air Splaoid’ project, which offers Gaelic learning opportunities to all while supporting Highland 2007, the Year of Highland Culture.

Rachel brings enthusiasm, Gaelic skills and experience of a marketing and promotions environment through her time working for the Mars Company.

Cànan will also have a new Creative Learning Manager, who will assume responsibility for overseeing the ‘Air Splaoid’ project as well as the many other multimedia projects the Company is involved in. Shirley Grant takes up her role from August 1st, after spending much of the last year travelling the world.

Cànan is delighted that the opportunity of working with us was attractive enough to entice Shirley to step off the backpacking trail! Shirley has a wealth of experience, particularly in the education sector after working in senior management with Learning and Teaching Scotland as Head of Software Development.
