Rachel Alcorn, Air Splaoid Marketing Manager at Cànan, awarded at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig

Cànan, the Isle of Skye-based communications company, is claiming a ‘by-proxy’ triumph after our marketing manager, Rachel Alcorn, won a prestigious award on graduating from her course at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.

Rachel had been at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the national centre of excellence for the development and enhancement of the Gaelic language, culture and heritage, for just one year to learn Gaelic and her incredible progress led to her being named the ‘most improved student’ after just 9 months at the college.

Rachel joined Cànan in July 2006 after completing her course as the new project marketing manager for the Air Splaoid! campaign. She said: “I’m really pleased to have been given this award. It was a great year at the college and even better to find employment within the Gaelic sector afterwards.”
