Cànan’s workforce expands again

Cànan, the Isle of Skye-based communications company, is delighted to announce the appointment of two new staff to positions as Flash software developers.

Rahul Oza and Gadam Krishna have joined the Creative Learning team at Cànan’s offices at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the college which is the national centre of excellence for the development of Gaelic.

Rahul (25) is a Business Administration graduate of Waldorf College, Tanzania, and followed that up with a Masters of Engineering qualification in IT at Nirma University in Ahmedabad, India. Rahul is currently completing his MSc in Computer Games through the University of Abertay.

Krishna (25) completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree at Madras University in India, before working for two years with Shellstone. After spending some time in Los Angeles, he also came to the University of Abertay where he gained a postgraduate qualification in Software Engineering.

These appointments help to confirm Cànan’s desire to hire the right people for the team dynamic. Rahul and Krishna have settled well into life in Skye, which is surely a warmer (if wetter) place to live than Dundee!

Now, Cànan’s workforce has grown by 50% since May 2006 and embraces people from England, Wales, Republic of Ireland, Spain, India and Tanzania as well as Scotland.

Cànan’s Chief Executive, Donella Beaton, said: “The Company always strives to hire the right people for any position. That means that apart from having the necessary skills and qualifications, they also have to have the right qualities as people to fit into, and contribute to, the team. For that reason, I’m delighted to welcome Rahul and Krishna to Cànan.”
