  • Celebrations as FilmG 2 draws to a close. FilmG 2, MG ALBA’s Gaelic online media shorts competition, which is project managed by Cànan, held its second awards ceremony in Eden Court, Inverness on Friday 5 February. A fantastic night of celebrations was had, with live music from Niteworks and a host of celebrity special guests including Joe Thomas, star of the BAFTA nominated sitcom, ‘The In-betweeners’.   • A new look for the Armadale, Isle of Skye. Clan Donald commissioned Cànan, following a national tender process to develop a new name, identity, website and other promotion resources for their visitor centre and estate. This is a really exciting piece of work and a great chance to work with a prestigious client – on our own doorstep!   • Gaelic learning resources for Calmac. Cànan is delighted to be working with Calmac in delivering a suite of online resources to support their Gaelic Language Plan. These resources will include a series of bite-sized lessons with interactive audio and visual content and a Gaelic awareness module to encourage staff to learn the language. Cànan is able to provide a similar resource for other organisations who are trying to provide all their staff with an opportunity to learn some Gaelic.

  • Cànan artist unveils portrait of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig former director. The Cànan team congratulates our graphic designer, photographer and visual artist, Steve McKenzie on the unveiling of his portrait of former Sabhal Mòr Ostaig director, Prof Norman Gillies OBE prior to the annual Sabhal Mòr Ostaig lecture in December.   • Cànan CEO presents at Stirling event. Cànan’s CEO, Donella Beaton, was a guest presenter at the national conference, Be Inspired to Innovate, which was held at the Stirling Management Centre on 17 February. The Conference, run by ICASS and EDTC and attended by over 120 delegates, showcased six companies including Cànan who had achieved success through their innovative approach to business.
